In this WebQuest, you will learn more about climate change. You will find out what causes it, how it affects people and the environment, and what we can do to help.
You will search for information online, work with your classmates, and share what you learn through a simple presentation.

Task
Your task is to work in a small group and create a simple digital presentation or poster about climate change.
Your presentation should answer these questions:
- What is climate change?
- What are the main causes of climate change?
- What are some effects of climate change on people, animals, and the environment?
- How can climate change affect communities in the Philippines?
- What can students and families do to help reduce its effects?
Your group will present your work to the class.
Process
Step 1: Form Your Group
Work with 3 to 4 classmates. Divide the tasks among your group members. You may use these roles:
- Researcher – looks for useful information.
- Fact Checker – checks if the information is correct.
- Writer – organizes and writes the information.
- Designer/Presenter – helps make the presentation and presents it.
Step 2: Learn About Climate Change
Start by finding out what climate change means. Also, learn how it is different from the usual changes in weather.
Write down at least three important facts that you learned.
Step 3: Investigate the Causes
Research the major causes of climate change.
Look for information about:
- Greenhouse gases
- Burning fossil fuels
- Deforestation
- Transportation
- Industrial activities
Choose at least three causes and explain them in your own words.
Step 4: Investigate the Effects
Research the effects of climate change on:
- People
- Animals
- Plants
- Oceans
- Communities
Choose at least three effects and explain how they can affect people and the environment.
Step 5: Focus on the Philippines
Look for information about how climate change affects the Philippines.
Research examples such as:
- Stronger or more frequent extreme weather events
- Flooding
- Drought
- Rising temperatures
- Rising sea levels
- Effects on agriculture and communities
Choose at least two examples that can be seen or experienced in the Philippines.
Step 6: Find Solutions
Find simple ways people can help the environment and reduce the effects of climate change.
List at least five actions that students, families, schools, or communities can do.
Examples may include saving electricity, reducing waste, planting trees, using public transportation, and conserving water.
Step 7: Create Your Final Product
Use the information you gathered to make your digital presentation or poster.
Your presentation should include:

- Definition of climate change
- Causes
- Effects
- Philippine examples
- Possible solutions
- Sources
Add pictures, diagrams, or charts to make your work more interesting. Keep the information simple, clear, and easy to understand.
Step 8: Present Your Findings
Share your work with the class.
Each member should participate in explaining the group's findings.
