However, people sometimes waste water without realizing its importance. In this WebQuest, students will explore the importance of water and investigate simple ways to conserve it. They will use information from the Internet, work with their classmates, and think of solutions to a real-life problem.
Task
Students will work in small groups to investigate water conservation. They will create a “Save Water, Save Our Future” poster that presents at least five practical ways to reduce water waste at home and in school. Each group will present their poster to the class and explain why their suggested actions are important.
Process
- Form a group of 3–4 students.
- Visit the websites provided by the teacher.
- Research the importance of water and the causes of water waste.

About This WebQuest

Why I Chose This WebQuest
I chose water conservation because it is something students can relate to in their everyday lives. They use water at home and in school, so they can easily connect the lesson to their own experiences. As a future teacher, I want my students to understand that learning Science is not only about memorizing facts. It should also help them recognize real problems and think of simple ways they can become part of the solution.
