Have you ever wondered why the sea in Cebu is sometimes very high and sometimes very low? Fishermen, swimmers, and even coastal communities depend on the tides every day.
In this WebQuest, you will become a "Coastal Science Investigator" to find out what really causes tides and how they affect life in the Philippines.
Task

Your task is to create a 1-page Public Service Announcement Poster for your barangay.
Goal: Explain to community members:
1. What causes high tide and low tide
2. 2 ways tides affect daily life in Cebu
3. 1 safety tip during high tide
Your end product will be shared in class and posted on the school FB page.
Process

Follow these steps with your group of 3:
1. Watch & Read: Visit the websites in the Resources section to learn about tides.
2. Investigate: Check today’s tide time for Cebu City using the Tide Forecast website.
3. Discuss: Answer: How do tides help fishermen? What problems can high tide cause?
4. Create: Use Canva or paper to design your PSA Poster. Include pictures, facts, and your safety tip.
5. Present: Present your poster to the class for 2 minutes.
