Nouns are words that name people, places, animals, and things. In this WebQuest, you will become a Noun Hunter and learn how to find and identify nouns.
Task
Your task is to find examples of nouns and classify them into four groups:
- People – teacher, doctor, student
- Places – school, park, hospital
- Animals – dog, cat, elephant
- Things – book, pencil, table
Create a Noun Poster with at least 5 examples for each group
Process
- Work with a partner or in a small group.
- Visit the websites provided by your teacher.
- Learn what a noun is.
- Find examples of nouns.
- Sort the nouns into four groups: people, places, animals, and things.
- Create your Noun Poster.
- Present your poster to the class.
Evaluation
Students will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
1. Noun Examples (4 points)
- Excellent (4 points): The student provides 20 correct examples of nouns.
- Good (3 points): The student provides 15–19 correct examples of nouns.
- Needs Improvement (2 points): The student provides fewer than 15 correct examples of nouns.
2. Classification of Nouns (4 points)
- Excellent (4 points): The student correctly classifies all nouns into people, places, animals, and things.
- Good (3 points): The student correctly classifies most nouns with only a few mistakes.
- Needs Improvement (2 points): The student has several errors in classifying nouns.
3. Presentation (4 points)
- Excellent (4 points): The student presents a clear, organized, and creative noun poster.
- Good (3 points): The student presents a mostly clear and organized poster.
- Needs Improvement (2 points): The student’s poster needs more organization and improvement.
4. Participation (4 points)
- Excellent (4 points): The student actively participates and works well with group members.
- Good (3 points): The student participates most of the time.
- Needs Improvement (2 points): The student needs to participate more during the activity.
