Task

By the end of this WebQuest, working in small collaborative teams, you will:

  1. Investigate the structure and function of primary plant cell organelles (such as the cell wall, chloroplasts, large central vacuole, and nucleus).
  2. Create a 3D Digital Model or Infographic of a plant cell that compares its organelles to a real-world system (e.g., a walled city, a factory, or a green energy power plant).
  3. Present Your Findings to the class via a brief multimedia presentation or digital poster explaining how each organelle contributes to the survival of the plant.

Process

Follow these step-by-step instructions to complete your mission:

  • Step 1: Form Your Research Team
    • Join a group of 3 or 4 students. Assign roles within your team: Lead Biologist, Materials Manager, Lead Designer, and Presentation Coordinator.
  • Step 2: Explore the Organelles
    • Visit the resources listed below to research your assigned plant cell parts. Take detailed notes on what each organelle looks like and what job it performs.

    • Put together your final digital infographic or 3D model project using tools like Canva, Google Slides, or digital drawing software, ready to share with your peers.
