Introduction
Welcome to the Climate Action Task Force! Global temperatures are rising, and our local coastal communities are facing a high risk of flooding. Our mayor needs expert advice on how to protect our town and reduce our carbon footprint. Are you ready to save our shores?
Task
- Working in teams of three, you will act as environmental scientists. Your team will create a 5-slide Google Slides presentation that identifies the two biggest causes of climate change and proposes three simple, low-cost solutions our school can start doing next week.
Process
- Form a group of three and open a blank Google Slides file.
- Read the resources listed below to find out why the Earth's temperature is rising.
- Brainstorm three actions our school can take (like recycling or turning off lights).
- Design your slides: Slide 1 is your title, Slides 2–3 explain the problem, and Slides 4–5 present your school solutions.
Evaluation
- Accuracy of Information (5 points): Did you correctly explain the causes of climate change?
- Action Plan (5 points): Are your three school solutions realistic, simple, and low-cost?
Conclusion
- Excellent work, team! By completing this task, you learned how greenhouse gases trap heat and how everyday habits affect the planet. Keep being heroes for our environment!
