Task 1

Rosa Parks was an extrodinary woman, even if she didn't know it at the time.  If it were not for her the Civil Rights Movement may not have been as strong, or even have started.  Take this time to find out more about this lady.  Fill out the following biopoem on her.  Remember your readings are't going to give you the exact answers, you must infer from the readings on most of the parts in the bio poem.  Use the following links to find the information you need.

Sit-Ins/Non-violent Protesting was just a couple of ways African Americans were able to protest the treatment they received from the whites.  Use the following link to find one political cartoon about Sit-ins/Non-violent protest and answer the following questions.  Print out a small copy of the political cartoon and staple it on to your paper.

The Little Rock Nine were a group of African American students that were recruited to help desegregate schools in Arkansas.  Look over the following sites and write a newpaper article.  This article must be 50 words in length.  Remember you must give the who, what, where, when, why in the first paragraph of the article.
