Introduction
This is a review of the gods, goddesses, and creatures of Mythology, and the stories they inhabit.
Mythology began as a way to explain how the world and universe work, to pass history down through the years, to teach people the way they should behave and live, and for entertainment purposes. Since the stories were interesting and action packed, they were passed down from generation to generation.
The myths (stories) told reflect the beliefs of the people who tell them. These myths were told and shared to strengthen the community and bring people together with a common understanding. The popular stories are the ones that are still around today, and they are the ones that the majority of the people believed. For example, if people were scared or frightened about something, they would create a story that explained the situation and the story would spread; therefore, people would be less afraid, and everyone would know the reason the bad or scary situation happened. People wanted to understand why the seasons changed and a story of Persephone was created.
