Financial Literacy

Introduction

Money is a tricky thing.  Sometimes you have it, sometimes you don't.  And more importantly, managing your money so you have it when you need it can be really tough to do.  That's why we're going to learn about various ways to keep your money.

Task

You will be asked to visit a series of websites and asked specific questions.  Using an online presentation software, you will then create a presentation of your answers and be prepared to share them.

Process

Q1: According to this site, what are the five ways a budget can help a teen?

Q2: Watch this video and explain the meaning of the title "Teens, walk before you run financially".

Q3: Visit the following site and list 2 advantages and 2 disadvantages of having a credit card.

Q4: The following article makes a lot of good points.  What are three tips they say every teen should learn when they get a part-time job?

Q5: Here's a funny video to help learn about the importance of saving.  Do you think it is effective? Why or Why not?

TASK: Don't forget, you need to go to Prezi or Google Drive and create a dynamic presentation to show your answers to these questions.

Evaluation

Conclusion

I hope you had a bit of fun learning about the importance of money management.  This is just a small example of the ways you can educate yourself so you can have money when you want and need it.
