Turf Company

Introduction

You own "Murph's Turf" and you're having a really rough year. If you don't get a big job soon, your business will more than likely go under. You get a call from Jerry Jones asking if you would be interested in making his turf for a new stadium twice as big than the one he has now. You obviously say yes, however, this is a very critical job. If you do a good job, future jobs could come and your business could boom, if you fail, you will have to close your doors indefinitely.

Task

You will need to figure out how much turf he ordered in the past stadium, how many pounds of beads, and all the lines you need to paint on the turf. You will then need to design the turf's dimensions that will go into the stadium. you will not need to paint logos, just yard markers and dimensions and any other lines needed in the turf that are not logos, Jerry will cover that. He really wants your turf so he is paying an outrageous eight dollars per square foot.

Process
  1. Figure out how many fields of turf the job will need.
  2. Find out where lines on the field are supposed to go.
  3.  Calculate the area of each strip by square feet. Each strip is the size of a five yard distance from one side of the field to the other
  4.  Make an equation calculating not only the number of strips needed per field, but also how many strips of turf will be needed total for the whole job.
  5.  Make another equation to calculate the cost of the job including paint, sealant costs and cost of the turf per square foot.
  6.  Present the turf design and costs in orderly manner that you will turn in to Jerry.
