A WebQuest for 4th grade- Our Solar System
Designed by L. Dawn Nalley-Student-Piedmont College
Imagine that you are an astronaut in a space ship exploring our solar system. You will record what you observe about the planets in our solar system. You will discover a new planet that has never been explored in our solar system and give a Power Point presentation about your planet. You will decide if people live on your planet, what animals and vegetation would live on your planet, what is the climate of your planet, and where is your planet located in our solar system in relation to the sun and other planets. Happy Exploring! 3 2 1 Blast Off!!!
You will use the planet chart given to you to answer questions about our solar system. Your group will use the links provided for your research. It is helpful if you give a task to each member of the group to ensure that your research is thorough. Your group will work together to create your own planet that you have discovered in our solar system. You will explain where your planet is located in the solar system and facts about your planet. You will compare your new planet to the existing planets in our solar system. You should use the facts that you have learned about the planets in our solar system to create your new planet. Be sure to design your planet to include all the required information about your newly discovered planet.
You will use the following links to do your research and to answer the questions on the planet work sheet you were given.
