From the name and logo to the menu and interior design—every choice is yours. But be careful: you have a limited budget and must attract customers in a competitive market. Your goal is to present a unique café concept that is affordable, creative, and realistic.
Task
You will work in groups of 3-4 students to:
Develop a café theme and name
Create a menu (food, drinks, prices)
Design the interior and exterior look (including a floor plan or drawings)
Choose a location and estimate start-up and monthly costs
Create a promotional flyer or ad
Present your café idea to the class in a 5-minute pitch
Process
Step 1: Brainstorm Your Concept
Decide what kind of café you want to open (e.g., dessert café, book café, eco-friendly, cat café, etc.). Think about your target audience and the vibe you want to create.
Step 2: Create a Name and Logo
Think of a catchy name and design a simple logo that matches your concept.
Step 3: Build Your Menu
Choose 5–8 food and drink items. Include descriptions and realistic prices. Use websites of real cafés for reference.
Step 4: Design the Space
Sketch or digitally design the layout and decoration. Think about color, furniture, lighting, and seating.
Step 5: Make a Budget Plan

Try to keep your total start-up budget under $10,000.
