Introduction
Students will answer questions questioning them about the proper uses of "their", "they're", and "
there". They will also be questioned about the proper uses of "your" & "you're".
Task
Students will be shown a powerpoint created to showcase the proper uses and meanings of these terms and how to use them in a sentence. Using what they learned, they are then handed a packet with pre-written sentences with blanks in them, for instance, "_____ so smart!" They will then be given answer choices to choose from, for instance, "your" or "you're". Students will work in groups at tables to complete this task. On the last page, there will be a writing space for them to create three of their own sentences using three different words out of the five taught.
Process
Students will learn and take notes from the PowerPoint and put the information to use on the packet they are given to collaborate on. They will then, using what they have learned, create three original sentences using three different words from the five that were taught and went over. They will be working with the other students at their tables.
Evaluation
Students will be graded on their notes taken from the powerpoint, the packet they do, and the sentences they all create.
Conclusion
Students learn from a powerpoint and implement what they learn into a collaborative group project.
