Have you ever seen a family tree? It shows all the people in your family – your mum, dad, grandma, grandpa, and more! In this project, you will learn how to talk about your family in English, describe what they look like, and make a beautiful family tree with drawings or photos. At the end, you will show your tree to the class and tell us all about your family. Let’s start this exciting adventure together!

Task
In this project, each of you will become a Family Explorer! Your mission is to create your own Family Tree in English. You will collect information about your family members, describe what they look like, and show how everyone is connected.
You will work on your own, but use help from your teacher, parents, and classmates.
Your final project will be a colorful poster or digital presentation with:

Process
Welcome to your Family Tree journey! Let’s discover how to describe your family in English and create a beautiful family tree together! Follow these steps carefully:
Step 1: Watch a video about family trees and talk about your family with the teacher and classmates
Step 2: Learn and review English words for family members
Step 3: Practice using simple English sentences to describe your family
Step 4: Make a list of your family members you want to include in your tree
Step 5: Write short sentences about each person including their name, relation to you, and appearance
Step 6: Find or draw pictures of your family members
Step 7: Create your family tree using a paper template or digital tool like Canva
Step 8: Add names, relations, pictures, and English descriptions to your tree
Step 9: Practice your presentation by reading your sentences aloud
Step 10: Present your family tree to the class and listen to others
Step 11: Ask and answer questions about each other’s families
Step 12: Reflect on what you learned and enjoyed about the project
Evaluation
FAMILY TREE POSTER / DIGITAL PRESENTATION MUST CONTAIN:

Names and correct relationships of at least 5 family members
SCORING: 5 POINTS. All members must be labeled and clearly connected to the student. -
A short English description for each family member (1–2 full sentences)
SCORING: 5 POINTS. Sentences should include basic appearance and be grammatically correct. -
Visual creativity: organized, neat, colorful, with images or drawings
SCORING: 5 POINTS. The tree must be easy to read and pleasant to view. Extra points for creativity! -
Completion of all required elements (names, relation, description, image)
SCORING: 5 POINTS. One point is deducted for each missing component.

SCORING: 3 POINTS. Clear pronunciation and complete sentences are expected. -

Show confidence, interest, and basic eye contact with the audience
SCORING: 3 POINTS. Reading without eye contact or monotone voice loses points.
