Tools of the Trade

Introduction

     Over the years, human beings have achieved many great feats.  Great works of art, the power of electricity, advancements in medicine, and space travel are examples of great ideas that have benefitted humanity.  None of these achievements would have been possible without having the proper tools to complete the job.  Tools are a vital part of getting work done.  

     In this lesson, you will discover many tools that have been used throughout time to create astonishing creations.  You will also be able to list ideas and inventions that you may want to contribute to society. 

Task
Process

After compling a list of five items that you feel helped change the world, complete the following:

1) Choose a partner to collaborate with.
2) Create a word processed document or presentation explaining the importance of the tools you listed.  
3) Finished products should contain photographs or examples of your selected tools.
4) Examples of projects the tool was used for.
5) List at least three inventions or ideas that you and your partner feel the tool could contribute to.  

  • Select software titles that you feel will help you fulfill all of the lessons objectives.  
  • Word processed documents must be at least 3 pages in length.
  • Presentations must last a minimum of 3 minutes.  
Evaluation

Please review this rubric as you will be evaluated on collaboration, presentation, product, and vision.

Vision Student did not list an invention or idea that listed tools could contribute to. Student listed an idea or invention that one tool could be used for. Student listed three ideas and inventions that the listed tools could be used for. Student listed five ideas and inventions that the listed tools could be used for.  
Conclusion

In this lesson, you reviewed or discovered many tools that helped shape world history.  Without the proper tools, we would flounder.  Use the tools that you are given in life to fulfill your wildest dreams.
