Early settlers like Tan Tock Seng helped Singapore grow from a humble fishing village into a bustling  trading post. But Singapore's journey did not stop there — today, it is are a vibrant metropolitan city, known for its stunning skyline, modern infrastructure, and bustling urban life. Much of this progress is thanks to the people from all walks of life — from visionary leaders to everyday citizens and modern day settlers who choose to build a life here.

Among these settlers are individuals whose contributions often go unseen: foreign construction workers who lay the foundations of our city, domestic helpers who support households and care for the young and elderly, foreign service staff who keep essential services running, and many more. Though they may not stand in the spotlight, their work quietly supports the rhythm of our daily lives.

Today, you will focus on one such group of modern-day settlers — foreign construction workers (FCWs) and learn more about their
