Task
You will:

Choose furniture items to place in your room (bed, dresser, etc.).
-
Use area and measurement to make sure everything fits.
-
Draw your room and label each item with size.
-
Write a few sentences explaining your choices.
Process

-
Your bedroom will be a rectangle: 10 feet wide and 12 feet long.
-
Use 1 square = 1 foot on grid paper to draw your room.
-
Draw the outer walls and label the sides of your room.
Step 2: Choose Your Furniture

Pick from this list or teacher’s handout:
| Item | Size (in feet) |
|---|---|
| Twin Bed | 3 x 6 |

| Desk | 3 x 2 |
| Dresser | 3 x 1.5 |

| Description | Clear, thoughtful, meets length | Some explanation | Very short, unclear | Missing, Off topic |
| Effort | Creative, Detailed | Good effort put forth | Basic | Very little to no effort shown |
Conclusion
You have now used geometry, area, and measurement to create your own bedroom! It is important to note how you had to use math to be able to make sure everything fits! Math is everywhere!
