Caring for Our Environment

Introduction

Have you ever wondered what happens to trash after we throw it away? Or why some animals don’t have homes anymore? This WebQuest will take you on an adventure to learn how to care for our planet! You will become a “Planet Protector” and help others learn how to keep Earth clean and safe.

Task

You will work in a small group to create a poster or a short video that teaches others how to take care of the environment. Your project should show:

  • What pollution is
  • How we can reduce, reuse, and recycle
  • How we can help plants and animals

You will present your project to the class and teach them how to be Planet Protectors, too!

Process

1.Watch and Learn: Start by watching the videos and looking at the websites below to learn about pollution, recycling, and helping the Earth.

3. Plan Your Project: Decide with your group whether you want to make a poster or a short video.

4. Create Your Project: Draw pictures, write words (with help), or record your video showing how to care for the environment.

5. Practice Presenting: Rehearse what you will say to the class.

6. Share Your Work: Present your poster or video to your classmates.
