Introduction
This Webquest will allow students to create a neighborhood map of their own neighborhood.
Students will create a map on their own of their neighborhood. They will provide information about landmarks and things that they remember that are in their neighborhood. This will help the students to become more familiar with how a map is constructed, their environment, places in their neighborhood.
Task
The assignment is to create a map of your neighborhood putting landmarks, houses and familiar places on the map.
Each student will create the map individually:
1. Draw a map
2. Write in familiar landmarks
3. Add houses, schools, churches, etc..
Also, each student will provide a picture of their neighborhood and street where they live.

Conclusion
At the end of this activity, students will have a betterunderstanding of the five themes of geography. Students will become morefamiliar with locations by providing locations in their neighborhood on themap. They will also gain more knowledge of places because they will incorporatethe places they know within their neighborhood. Students may incorporate activitiesthat may occur in familiar places. Students will provide a picture of theirneighborhood to show movement. They will create a map of the region which theylive within. Students will see their classmate’s maps and discover that manyneighborhoods are different.
