Introduction
We have been learning about animals and their habitats, and how animals adapt to the different environments that they live in. Without using these adaptations, animals would not be able to survive in their given environments, so it is important to understand about why plants and animals live in only very specific biomes.
A biome can be defined as a large region characterized by a specific kind of climate and certain kinds of plant and animal communities. The world is made up of many different ecosystems. Ecosystems are also called biomes. Each biome is unique in its animals, plants, and climate. Within these biomes, the living organisms have adaptations to help them survive in these sometimes extreme environments.
The Marine Biome World distribution covers about three-fourths of the Earth's surface which include oceans, coral reefs, and estuaries. Marine Biome is what consists of all bodies of salty waters such as oceans and obviously the largest biome on the planet earth and consists of a wide diversity of aquatic life.
Task
Congratulations’! You have just been hired by Marine Travel Agency! You are an ecologist who is researching the biomes of the world and the adaptations of the plants and animals that live in the different biome. How have plants and animals adapted to survive in each unique biome?
You will research also about marine biome with your partner in this agency. What do each of the marine region look like? Finally you will examine or describing their location and the type of organisms that live at each level.
Remember in this activity, you are ecologist
to collect information about marine biomes
by researching or doing a Web activity.
Describe examples of plant and
animal adaptations to
specific biome.
It is your challenge to find out!
So put on your traveling shoes, pack your suitcase,
and grab your camera.
