this web quest allows students to creat a timeline of what happened on Christopher Columbus' voyage across the Atlantic Ocean.

Introduction

We are going to learn about Christopher Columbus discovering the Americas and how long it took for him to cross the ocean.

Task

The final product will be a timeline of the voyage of Christopher Columbus via his journal. In the process links you will see the link and instructions in creating your timeline.

Process

Steps to creating your timeline

  1. Go to this link: http://www.fordham.edu/Halsall/source/Columbus1.asp
  2. Read the journal entries and write down 10 important events that happened on that day.
  3. The events should include: the day they left, and the day they landed.
  4. Describe what impact that event might have had on the crossing. On the day they landed, describe what they saw.
  5. Once you have written down the important information you will write your dates on 10 notecards.
  6. On the back of the notecards, you will match your notes with the dates and write the information from that day.

Conclusion

Looking back, we discovered how long it took for Columbus to cross the Atlantic Ocean and how the discovery of the America's started the settlements of the Eastern Hemisphere.
